Mostly I’m tired of people being ugly to each other. I’m tired of all the pain I feel and hear in the world everyday. There’s too much of it. It’s like pieces of glass in my head all the time. Can you understand?

The first time I watched the film version of “The Green Mile”, this quote hit me between the eyes like Michael Clark Duncan was wielding a 2×4. Every time it pops up again, I feel the same familiar pangs in my chest.
It’s 2022, and so much of the world is in chaos. It’s 2022 and in the United States we are still arguing basic human rights as though they should be up for discussion. It’s 2022 and social media has emboldened a new generation of anonymous experts on everything and everyone but themselves. People are lashing out at anyone and nothing, and it takes a toll.
I’m so tired of the dearth of sincerity and basic human kindness. Please be sincere. Please be kind.
