I do my best to present a positive and uplifting version of myself to the world, because that is the part of myself that I want to cultivate. The fact is, no matter how sunny your outlook, at some point the rain is going to show up. That happened to me recently when I was hit with some pretty tough news at work.
I don’t usually stay in a sad space for very long, because I learned a long time ago that the rain is just as important as the sunshine. Without it, the plants don’t get watered. Without sunshine and rain, the plants will die. It’s hard sometimes to love the rain, but we need it.
If you find yourself in a storm, just remember the sun is just around the corner.
Never forget that I love you, and that excludes no one.
