Dear one,
I was largely a below-average performer in school, due at least in part to the high percentage of teachers who thought that standing up and talking at a room full of people was the right way to teach. For me, interactivity is the key that unlocks new skills and concepts, while being talked at generally triggers my boredom response.
No matter how much knowledge I might possess on a given subject, it is worthless without the ability to practically apply it and/or the ability to teach others what I know. If I truly want to educate someone, I must be willing to first find out how they learn.
Never forget that I love you, and that excludes no one.
