Dear one,
Yesterday was a difficult one at work, and it left me in a challenging headspace. In addition, I wasn’t feeling great after getting a covid booster and flu shot earlier in the week. I ended up sitting on the couch, watching a few comedy clips on YouTube for a couple of hours before going to bed early. I’m glad I did, because I awoke with laughter on my mind.
“Laughter is wine for the soul – laughter soft, or loud and deep, tinged through with seriousness – the hilarious declaration made by man that life is worth living.”
Sean O’Casey
“Laughter and tears are both responses to frustration and exhaustion. I myself prefer to laugh, since there is less cleaning up to do afterward.”
Kurt Vonnegut
“I am the happiest creature in the world. Perhaps other people have said so before, but not one with such justice. I am happier even than Jane; she only smiles, I laugh.”
Jane Austin, Pride and Prejudice
“I don’t trust anyone who doesn’t laugh.”
Maya Angelou
“There is a thin line that separates laughter and pain, comedy and tragedy, humor and hurt.”
Erma Bombeck
My hope for you today is that you don’t miss an opportunity to laugh. Life is hard, and laughter is a great therapy. Never forget that I love you, and that excludes no one.
Love and laughter,
