I’m a pretty serious man most of the time. There’s an intensity in me that can be off-putting to some, and I fully own that aspect of my personality. But there is also a part of me that loves to laugh. I sleep with a teddy bear, and I love Winnie the Pooh and anything Dr. Seuss. Where the Wild Things Are is one of my favorite books.
This quote stood out to me this morning because it is such a childlike, sing-song reminder of something that more adults need to be aware. As adults, we tend to become more fixed in our ways, often accepting sadness and misery as part of life that we just have to endure. The difference is that we are adults, which means that this quote is entirely relevant and accurate for us.
As long as we are breathing, we can choose to change our lives. Not every change is going to be a good change, and not everything we try is going to be worth trying again. Keep going. The author Ray Bradbury wrote that “Life is trying things to see if they work.”, and I couldn’t agree more.
Keep exploring. Keep dreaming. Keep wanting more of what makes you happy, because that’s what life is about.
Never forget that I love you, and that excludes no one.
Love,
