Dear one,

I can’t tell you how many times a day I see it happen. A gay man bemoaning how difficult it is to find anyone who is interested in them because they don’t have a gym body. Then I see the retweets and comments, all of which seem to focus on the Adonis bodies with 2% body fat.

Maybe if we started treating our bodies like they’re the only one we’ve got, if we stopped hating ourselves because our bodies don’t match the image of what’s being sold to us. Maybe if we understood that our bodies are not who we are, only the house in which we live. Maybe then we could accept and love our bodies. Maybe then we could form a healthy relationship with the concept of wanting to renovate our dwelling instead of falling into depression over not having the perfect body, whatever the hell that is.

Never forget that I love you, and that excludes no one.

Love,
