Listen. Slide the weight from your shoulders and move forward. You are afraid you might forget, but you never will. You will forgive and remember.
Barbara Kingsolver, The Poisonwood Bible
Dear one,
I get it, you got hurt and you’re having a hard time letting go of the pain and resentment. But wearing them like the world on Atlas’ shoulders is only going to anchor you right where you stand. Feel your feelings. Sit with them, even revel in them and let yourself feel extra mopey for a while. Then stand up. Right yourself and shrug the weight off.
When you’re steady on your feet again, take a step forward, in the direction that you want to go. Don’t let someone else’s derailed train throw you on the path you have chosen for yourself. That bitter pill can only continue to hurt you if you keep refilling the prescription.
Never forget that I love you, and that excludes no one.
Love,
