“What if you wake up tomorrow with only the things you were grateful for today?”
Buddhist Boot Camp
Dear one,
Nearly 18 years ago I started Good News Friday as a weekly social media post on Facebook. I had seen so much negative energy that it was beginning to affect me in ways I wasn’t happy about. I made the choice at the time to make an effort to redirect my energy toward something that could encourage positivity.
Who knew that such a simple weekly practice would teach me innumerable lessons on the importance of gratitude?
It’s easy to fall into a mindset of negativity. Today I encourage you to add gratitude to your regular practice. Instead of dwelling on everything that went wrong at work, end your day with a simple affirmation to yourself. Mine is something along the lines of, “Today I am grateful for being a more patient person than I used to be. I am grateful for tough lessons and for the willingness to learn them.”
Full disclosure, that was my actual gratitude statement from earlier this week.
Never forget that I love you, and that excludes no one.
Love,
