Dear one,
I was thinking the other day about misunderstandings and miscommunication, and how they often lead to tension over hurt feelings. In that moment I flashed to Act 5, Scene 2 of Hamlet, specifically the quote, “Exchange forgiveness with me, noble Hamlet.”
Overthinking as I commonly do, my mind dissected scenarios and came up with a communication method that can help to avoid the problems associated with misunderstanding and miscommunication.
I would like to exchange understanding with you.
Imagine if conversations started with a statement like this. It’s not enough to say the words, though. We have to want understanding, and we have to want to share it with an open heart.
Today my hope for you is that you are able to grow and thrive by exchanging understanding with the people in your life.
Never forget that I love you, and that excludes no one.
