Dear one,

It is common for people to think that their feelings and actions are intrinsically connected and that one justifies the other. However, this is not always the case. While it is true that our emotions are valid and should not be dismissed, our behavior may not always align with those emotions in a positive or acceptable way.

Imagine someone who has just gone through a breakup and is feeling hurt and angry. While their feelings are certainly valid, lashing out at their ex-partner with hurtful words or actions is not an appropriate way to deal with those emotions. Similarly, feeling anxious about a job interview is understandable, but canceling the interview last minute because of those emotions is not a productive solution.

Acknowledging the validity of our emotions is an important aspect of self-awareness and emotional intelligence. However, it is equally important to recognize that our behavior is a choice, and it is our responsibility to act in a way that is respectful, considerate, and productive. By separating our emotions from our actions, we can take a step back and evaluate whether our behavior is appropriate or whether we need to find more constructive ways of expressing our feelings. Ultimately, recognizing the difference between the validity of our emotions and the appropriateness of our behavior is a key aspect of personal growth and development.

Never forget that I love you, and that excludes no one.

Love,
