Dear one,
I have watched people who pushed and clawed and fought to get what they wanted, only to have burned so many bridges along the way there was no one around to celebrate their eventual success with. I’ve seen people so deeply wounded by their traumas that they felt worthless and unlovable, who ended up living on the street with nothing to their name but the glass pipe in their pocket.
Happiness is not a sandwich. You don’t have to give yours up for someone else to have their fill. If you have ever wondered how I can possibly say “and never forget that I love you” to perfect strangers and mean it, it’s because it is virtually impossible to love too much – the more love you give, the more you’ll feel.
There is room for everyone to be happy, to feel loved and wanted. We all deserve food, clothes, basic medical and mental health care, and the safety & security of a roof over our heads. We don’t have to fight and destroy each other in a rush to get what we want before everyone else.
Whatever trauma you’re dealing with today, I want you to know that I LOVE YOU. Even if I don’t know your story, or even your name, even if we don’t talk, even if we don’t always agree, I LOVE YOU. No matter what you may have been told, you are enough and you deserve to be happy, and to feel loved.
Never forget that I love you, and that excludes no one.
